While appealing masses to observe shutdown call given by separatist leaders on Saturday, MLA Langate Er Rashid Thursday said the strike call over the separate settlements for Kashmiri Pandits should be observed in such manner that “it should shake the walls of Narendra Modi Government, fascist forces and let whole India know that Kashmiris don’t want Autonomy, self rule but resolution to Kashmir issue in its historical perspective”.
“Let Kashmiris be under no illusion that PDP or NC will bring them so called self rule or autonomy,” he said, “but these parties are very scared of even discuss Kashmir issue or their autonomy and self rule slogans in the assembly.”
Er Rashid asked Mufti in House that why doesn’t he provide justice to victims of 2010 killings, Asiya and Neelofar for which PDP made so much of hue and cry during last six years.
He also charged NC of not speaking even a single word over proposed composite towns for Pandits inside Assembly but preferring talking to media and over tweets only after feeling the mood of Kashmiri people against said proposal.
“With no scope of discussing the political issues of people in the Assembly it has lost much of its sheen,” he said. “People direly want their political aspirations to be debated and addressed accordingly.”
On the issue of criticism by BJP and “biased Indian media” of security cover taken by Separatists and claiming to have spend Rs 500 crores on Hurriyat leaders, Rashid termed same as misleading and baseless.
“Out of 1402 protected persons as revealed by home department, only a minor proportion of separatist leaders are having security cover,” he said. “It should be left to the conscience and requirement of Hurriyat leaders or any other individual whether they want security cover or not.”
While reflecting on the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s “U- turn” statement on having no separate composite Pandit townships, Er Rashid said all this is result of lava of anger generated among masses and sane voices over the issue and vindication of my stand in and outside assembly.
