The Committee on Petitions (PC) of J&K Legislative Council headed by its Chairmanship B.R. Kundal on Wednesday convened a meeting to discuss the action taken report of previous petitions received by the Council Secretariat besides the situation arisen due to the collapses of Assembly complex.

Legislators, Ch. Nizam-ud-Din Khatan, Naresh Kumar Kumar Gupta, Ghulam Qadir Pardesi and Master Noor Hussain attended the meeting.

Threadbare discussion was held on Petitions submitted by Ali Mohammad Renzu and Ghulam Mohammad Kalan Nandpora, Tehsil Srinagar regarding the fraud compensation by the authorities of LAWDA in favour of the Land vide Khasra No. 6681 (9 marlas) and Khasra No. 6696 (2 marlas) situated at Ranu Mohalla, Kalan, Nandpora have illegally shown the property of Mtr. Fazi  D/O Mtr. Daulati by the Revenue field agencies in connivance with broker namely Ghulam Hassan Ashraf S/O Mohammad Baqar Ashraf R/O Bata, Kadal Srinagar.

The Committee sought necessary relevant records from the Vice Chairman, LAWDA in this regard before the Committee for its scrutiny.

Earlier, the Committee visited the damaged portion of the Legislative Complex and took stock of the situation arisen due to the collapse of the building. The Committee observed that the building is unsafe and asked the government for shifting of records and necessary arrangements for alternative office accommodation to safe guard of the employees of the Council Secretariat.
