Panic gripped in Tipri Badanoo area of Thatri in Doda district on Sunday after a leopard killed 5 sheep and injured four others.
Reports said that five sheep were killed and four others were left injured by the leopard that sneaked into the cowshed of Mohd Shafi Kumhar at village Tipri Badanoo of Doda district.
The matter came to light in the morning when Mohd Shafi Kumhar and his family found 5 sheep dead and 4 others injured in his cowshed. Villagers informed that a pack of ferocious leopards are wandering in the area from the last two weeks due to which everyone in the village is scared to go out.
villagers have appealed the concern administration and wildlife department of the area to take immediate steps to control these wild beasts. “Since the news of the death of sheep spread in the area, people are feeling insecure in open and prefer to remain indoors round the clock,” said a villager.
