SRINAGAR: Two militants were killed in an encounter with counter-insurgent forces in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.
An official said that two militants were killed so far in the ongoing encounter at Kulgam.
The identity and the affiliations of the slain militants could not be ascertained immediately.
IGP Kashmir has identified one of the slain militants as Gulzar Ahmad Reshi of Kulgam, a district commander of proscribed LeT. In a tweet, he said they were involved in the killing of non-local labourers at Wanpoh.
