Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have arrested a militant affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit in north Kashmir’s Sopore town.

A police spokesman in a statement said that on December 22, 2019 at about 19:15 hours while acting on a credible intelligence input regarding presence and movement of one local LeT militant, Sopore Police, Army 22-RR & CRPF jointly launched an operation at Janwara Sopore.

“During operation one local LeT militant identified as Sadam Hussain Mir son of  Ghulam Mohammad Mir a resident of  Brath Kalan Mir Mohalla Sopore was arrested along with arms and ammunition,” said the spokesman.

“Regarding the incident Case FIR No. 301/2019 U/S 7/25 A. Act, 20, 23 ULA (P) Act stands registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation taken up,” said police spokesman in a statement.
