Police on Thursday claimed to have apprehended a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant at Zandpal area of Tangmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and a live grenade was recovered from his possession.
An official said that a cordon and search operation was launched in Zandpal and adjoining areas of Zandpal by 2RR , police subdivision Tangmarg and CRPF 176 jointly. During a search operation, a suspicious movement of a person was seen in Zandpal.
However, police came to action and apprehended the person identified as Firdous Khan, son of Ghulam Mohidin Khan, a resident of Zandpal. A live grenade was also recovered from the said person and he according to police is associated with LeT militant outfit.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case under FIR number 19 /2019 US 7/25 I.A.ACT in police station Kunzer and investigations are going on.
