Amid the tensions in Jammu and Kashmir, after an attack on paramilitary Convoy in south Kashmir, the former chief minister and NC Vice president Omar Abdullah has appealed the Union Minister Rajnath Singh to issue directions to all the state governments to take care of students outside the state.

The former chief minister also said that students outside the state are “soft targets in a surcharged atmosphere.”

Taking to a social networking site Twitter, Omar wrote; “My earnest appeal to @rajnathsingh ji to please issue directions to all state governments to take special care in areas/colleges/institutions where Kashmiris are residing/studying. They are soft targets in a surcharged atmosphere.”

Earlier, media reports suggested that the Jammu provenance of the state is observing a complete shutdown against the killings and clashes between the forces and people were also reported.

However, a curfew has been imposed in the division to maintain law and order in the area.
