SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a finance network of Lashkar Toiba by arresting three people in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

A police spokesman in a statement said that acting on reliable information about proscribed militant organization LeT activating a module for carrying out activities in district Bandipora and Kupwara.

He said that acting on this information Bandipora police busted a module of LeT and arrested 03 persons namely Irshad Ahmad Sheikh resident of Chittibandy Aragam, Mohmad Junaid Wani resident of Nageen Bagh Sopore and Raj Mohammad Khan a resident of Lolab Kupwara.

The spokesman said police seized Rs. 04 Lakh Cash, and 01 in Bank accounts and other incriminating material from their possession.

“The trio were in touch with their handlers in Pakistan Administered Kashmir and had raised Rs.14 Lakh out of which Rs.09 Lakh have been distributed for financing militant activities in district Bandipora and Kupwara,” he said.

“In this regard Case FIR No. 29/2020 under different sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) has been registered in police station Aragam and further investigation of the case is going on,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
