SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday interacted with members of the Kashmir Women’s Organisation at Raj Bhawan and commended their efforts towards empowering women and enhancing their participation in socio-political spheres.
The Lieutenant Governor praised the contribution of women in the Union Territory’s growth, stating that Nari Shakti has been pivotal in driving progress across sectors. “Our daughters are scripting new history and achieving excellence in diverse fields,” he said. “They are the pillars of socio-economic development and a force behind Jammu & Kashmir’s accelerated growth.”
LG Sinha underscored that the Indian Constitution guarantees equal rights to women. He noted that over recent years, the administration has intensified efforts to create opportunities for women through targeted programmes and initiatives, particularly in key economic and development sectors.
“Our vision is to ensure greater participation of women in building a Viksit Bharat and an Aatm-Nirbhar Jammu Kashmir,” he said, while encouraging the organisation’s members to continue their vital work.
Members of the Kashmir Women’s Organisation briefed the Lieutenant Governor about their ongoing initiatives focused on women’s empowerment, community engagement, and increasing political participation. The LG conveyed his best wishes for their future endeavours.
