LG Manoj Sinha Reviews Security, Vows to Dismantle Militant Ecosystem in Jammu Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting in Jammu to review the prevailing security situation in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that militancy and its support networks must be dismantled in their entirety.

The meeting was attended by top officials including Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat; Principal Secretary Home, Chandraker Bharti; Additional Director General of Police CID, Nitish Kumar; Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari; Inspector General of Police Jammu, Bhim Sen Tuti; and Deputy Inspector General Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma.

In a strong message, the Lieutenant Governor said, “It is the collective resolve of the people of J&K and the nation to destroy the root of terror emanating from our neighbourhood. We must be resolute to fulfill this mission.”

He instructed officials to take decisive action against Over Ground Workers (OGWs) who support terrorism by providing logistics, identifying targets, and facilitating the movement of militants. Stressing the need for coordinated efforts, LG Sinha called for the permanent dismantling of the terror support infrastructure across the Union Territory.

“It should be our priority to ensure a sense of security to the common man,” he said, while directing that the security grid be further strengthened and synergy among various security agencies be enhanced.

The meeting comes amid sustained efforts by security forces to neutralise terror threats and maintain peace in the region.
