LG Reviews Welfare Measures for Veterans, Veer Naris at Rajya Sainik Board Meet

   

SRINAGAR : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired the 81st meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Rajya Sainik Board at Lok Bhavan, reviewing welfare measures for veterans, Veer Naris, widows and dependents.

The meeting discussed issues related to welfare delivery, grievance redressal, healthcare and institutional strengthening, including the establishment of a ZSWO at Kishtwar and better coordination on pension-related matters.

Sinha reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of veterans and their families, saying every effort would be made to honour their sacrifices and ensure a life of dignity for them.

The Board also discussed the empanelment of AIIMS Jammu, GMC Rajouri, GMC Doda and Government Hospital Kupwara with the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) to improve access to healthcare.

The Lieutenant Governor also chaired a meeting of the State Management Committee on the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, where proposals concerning medical support, infrastructure, education, skill development and outreach were discussed.

The committee proposed initiatives including education and career incentives, psychological counsellors in identified areas, skill-development support and improved welfare infrastructure.
