SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday extended greetings to the people on the occasions of Lohri and Makar Sankranti, wishing them peace, prosperity and happiness.
In his message, the Lieutenant Governor conveyed warm greetings and good wishes, praying for health, bliss and prosperity for all. He said the festivals, which mark the joy of a new harvest and recognise the hard work of farmers and the generosity of nature, should usher in renewed growth and progress for the nation. The Lieutenant Governor expressed hope that the festive season and the year ahead would be filled with peace and joy and inspire collective efforts towards the well-being of all.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the people on the auspicious occasions, wishing happiness, peace and prosperity to all those celebrating. Highlighting the spirit of unity and joy associated with festivals such as Lohri, he said such occasions bring people together and provide moments of happiness amid busy lives.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that the celebrations would herald a new phase of peace, harmony and development in the region. Describing Lohri as an integral part of the region’s rich cultural heritage and traditions, he said the festival should strengthen bonds of brotherhood and spread warmth and cheer among the people.
Omar Abdullah extended his best wishes to all communities observing the festivals and prayed for a bright, peaceful and prosperous future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
