SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has approved extensions in the tenures of the Vice Chancellors of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) and Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J).
Professor Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, has been granted a two-year extension upon completion of his existing three-year term on June 19, 2026.
In a separate order, Professor Bhupendra Nath Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-J, has been given an extension up to July 19, 2027, the date he attains the age of 65 years. The extension will take effect from June 20, 2026, following the completion of his current three-year term.
The decisions ensure continuity in academic and administrative leadership at both institutions.
