SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday described Jammu and Kashmir’s first-ever Ranji Trophy victory as the Union Territory’s “finest hour,” expressing pride and emotion over the historic achievement.
In a post shared by the Office of the LG on X, he said his emotions were “surging beyond words” as he witnessed the JK cricket team lift the prestigious trophy.
Praising the players’ grit and determination, the LG congratulated the squad for etching their names in history through hard work and resilience. He added that the entire Union Territory is beaming with pride and thanked the team for delivering a moment that will be remembered for generations.
He further noted that the players have immortalised history with their achievement and urged them to embrace the honour with dignity as they open a new chapter in Jammu and Kashmir’s sporting legacy.
Jammu and Kashmir created history on shortly by winning their maiden Ranji Trophy, defeating eight-time champions Karnataka in a drawn final courtesy of a dominant first-innings lead.
