SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various developmental projects worth over Rs 40 crore in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Sinha also e-inaugurated 40 works and schemes valued at Rs 101.66 crore, which include initiatives by the Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu Smart City Limited, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Srinagar Smart City Limited, Directorate of Urban Local Bodies, and the J&K Lake Conservation and Management Authority. Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for six projects worth Rs 26.25 crore under the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies Kashmir and Jammu.
The Lt Governor inaugurated new accommodation for PRI members, worth Rs 6.41 crore, at Sheikhpora, aimed at providing safe housing and strengthening grassroots institutions. He also inaugurated Panchayat Ghars in various locations and community toilet units at the Charar-i-Sharief shrine. A new receiving station costing Rs 6.34 crore was also opened to improve power supply in the region.
Sinha launched water supply schemes and laid the foundation for further developments in Budgam, including a community hall at Sheikhpora and a skill development centre. He also commenced the construction of a Truss Girder Bridge at TakiyabalKanigund, a Rs 13.65 crore project to enhance connectivity in the region.
The Lt Governor’s initiatives also extended to green spaces, IT infrastructure, and civic amenities in Jammu and Kashmir cities, focusing on landscaping, public facilities, and office complexes.
