SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha is likely to visit and participate in the main Zuljanah procession from Bota Kadal up to Imambara Zadibal on the eve of Muharram 10th (Ashoora) in the summer capital, Srinagar.

An official said that LG Manoj Sinha is visiting to flag off the Muharram procession on Ashoora at Bota-kadal in Lal-Bazar here.

He said that all the necessary arrangements are being finalised in this regard, and instructions have been passed to the police and other establishments for tight security arrangements.

Pertinently, on Muharram 8th, the Government of J&K allowed the Shia community to carry out a procession that took place from Guru Bazar via Lal Chowk to Dalgate.

The procession was participated in by thousands of mourners, as well as officials from the civil and police administration. The procession was carried out after 34 years of ban, which was enforced with the onset of militancy in J&K. (KNS)
