SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday directed a thorough and impartial magisterial inquiry into the killing of an alleged militant during an encounter in Arhama area of Ganderbal.
According to an official statement shared by the LG’s office on X, the probe will examine all aspects surrounding the incident to ensure that justice is delivered.

In a formal communication to the District Magistrate Ganderbal, the government has instructed that a detailed inquiry be conducted into the circumstances leading to the death of Raashid Ahmad Mughal, son of Late Gull Zaman Mughal.
The magistrate has been tasked with establishing the facts of the case and has been directed to complete the inquiry within seven days. The report will be submitted to the Home Department for further action.
Earlier, the Army had stated that a militant was killed during an encounter in the Arhama forest area of Ganderbal district, prompting calls for a thorough investigation to maintain transparency and accountability.
