SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday paid tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh on his Janm-Jayanti, highlighting his contribution to public welfare and social reforms.
In a post on X, the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Jammu and Kashmir, said Maharaja Hari Singh had introduced wide-ranging reforms focused on the welfare and empowerment of people, describing him as an “enlightened statesman” and “progressive thinker”.
The post also said his emphasis on public service, equality and inclusive development continued to provide guidance.
September 23 is observed as an annual public holiday across Jammu and Kashmir to mark the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh.
