LG Sinha Unveils Jammu Kashmir Bank Calendar for 2026

   

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday unveiled Jammu and Kashmir Bank’s Wall and Table Calendars for the year 2026 at Lok Bhavan.

The Wall Calendar for 2026 carries the theme “Rivers of JK and Ladakh”, while the Table Calendar highlights “Historic Places”, showcasing the natural and cultural heritage of the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Speaking on the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor appreciated JK Bank for choosing themes aimed at raising public awareness about the preservation of ancient monuments, archaeological sites and cultural traditions for future generations. He stressed the need for collective efforts to safeguard these assets.

Sinha also underlined the importance of protecting vital ecosystems, particularly rivers, which he said are a key source of fresh water, support food security and sustain biodiversity in the region. He called for community participation in conserving rivers and water bodies to enhance resilience against future climate impacts.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Amitava Chatterjee, said the 2026 calendars honour the rivers that sustain life across the region and the historic sites that reflect its shared legacy.

The calendars also feature major public welfare initiatives such as Mission YUVA and the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, along with key banking products including housing, car and personal consumption loans and online account opening facilities, highlighting the bank’s role as a development partner.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by Principal Secretary Finance Santosh D Vaidya, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor Mandeep K Bhandari, Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, Chief General Managers Sunit Kumar and Imtiyaz Ahmad, among other senior officials of JK Bank.
