Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 20th JK Police Martyrs’ Memorial Football Tournament, Sinha said the land of Jammu and Kashmir was “saturated with the blood and sacrifice of police, Army and CAPF martyrs.” He asserted that anyone undermining India’s sovereignty or the memories of the fallen “will not be spared.”

The Lieutenant Governor hailed the “selfless service and supreme sacrifice” of JK Police personnel, crediting their role in ensuring security, stability, and conditions for progress in the Union Territory. He stressed that preserving the legacy of martyrs was a collective responsibility of both the security forces and the public.

“Peace, progress and prosperity have been made possible by their ultimate sacrifice. Society can never repay this debt but must honour fallen heroes and their families,” Sinha said.

He also praised JK Police’s Civic Action Programme for empowering youth and fostering community engagement.

At the ceremony, Sinha interacted with players, distributed trophies and cash awards, and congratulated the winners. JK Bank triumphed over Kashmir Avengers FC in the final to lift the tournament trophy.

The event was attended by DGP Nalin Prabhat, senior police and civil administration officials, members of the Football Association, prominent sports personalities, and hundreds of youth.
