SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday issued a call to unite against divisive forces, stating that recognising internal threats and celebrating India’s diversity is key to defeating adversarial agendas. He was addressing a gathering at the All J&K Jat Sabha in Jammu.
“We must recognise the threat from divisive elements who are trying to divide us. We must celebrate our diversity and foster unity to defeat the Adversary’s nefarious designs,” said LG Sinha. He praised the role of the Jat community in national defence and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to a terrorism-free Jammu and Kashmir.
Highlighting recent security challenges, LG Sinha declared that Pakistan is “on notice” and warned of strong retaliation in the event of any future misadventures. “If it resorts to any misadventure in future, our armed forces will make sure to destroy this terrorist state,” he said.
Referring to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and cross-border shelling, the Lieutenant Governor assured that no distinction would be made between armed terrorists and their supporters. “Their actions will be met with similar punishment,” he added.
He urged the Jat community—many of whom reside near the border—to remain vigilant and committed to national unity. “In these challenging times, your responsibility to uphold national unity is more crucial than ever,” he said, calling the community the “first line of defence.”
Lauding Operation Sindoor, LG Sinha said it marked a turning point in India’s counterterrorism strategy and should be seen as a tribute to the armed forces’ bravery.
He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for ushering in “an era of equality” in the Union Territory and empowering marginalised communities.
The event was attended by MLA Vikram Randhawa, former minister Sukhnandan Choudhary, All J&K Jat Sabha President Manjit Singh, Taranjit Singh Tony, and several prominent citizens and community leaders.
