Authorities of Drugs & Food Control Organization (D&FCO) carried out a 10-day special drive in Jammu district to ensure sale of quality drugs and check the misuse of habit forming drugs in the market.

The teams constituted conducted more than 150 surprise inspections on medical establishments in rural as well as urban areas across the Jammu district, checked the records of sale and purchases, lifted more than 60 statutory samples of medicines. The authorities initiated action against the 30 traders, who were found violating various provisions of law and issued showcase notice to them. Meanwhile, the licence of these violators have been suspended.

During the inspection, the authorities senstized the traders about the provisions of Drugs & Cosmetic Act, maintenance of records of sale and provisions, timely renewal of licences.
