In a statement, party general secretary, Nahida Nasreen, said that it has been more than five days since the court issued bail orders for Aasiyeh and her personal secretary. “ But the police, without any reason or case, is keeping them illegally detained at PS Rambagh,” she said.

Nasreen said that the party chairperson is critical as she not only needs oxygen and sophisticated medical care but also needs a hygienic environment. “But it seems that the puppets government is looking for excuses to keep her in custody,” she said.

She said that it is sheer lawlessness that a critical patient and has been advised by the doctors to undergo specialized treatment has been kept jailed. “ Four days have passed since the doctors have prescribed that she needs sophisticated medical care as she has developed different other ailments apart from being asthmatic. Doctors have also said her life is at risk still the lawless and shameless authorities are keeping her under arrest,” Nasreen added.

Nasreen said that Aasiyeh and Fehmeeda were arrested under FIR 107/151 on April 26 and bail was issued on May 9.

Nasreen demanded immediate release for the duo and threatened of dire consequences if they aren’t released at the earliest.
