Life returned to normal in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday after remaining affected for a day following a joint Resistance Leadership JRL call in wake of the second phase of polls in Anantnag Lok Sabha seat.

Shops, Schools and other commercial establishments opened in across the Kulgam district elsewhere while transport also started plying.

A complete shutdown was observed in the district yesterday following a call issued by the Joint Resistance Leadership against the second phase election held yesterday for Anantnag parliamentary seat.

10.32 per cent voting was recorded yesterday in Kulgam district during the second leg of election for Anantnag parliamentary segment.

A large number of people were seen busy in purchasing different household items from the market.

Train services which remained suspended yesterday were also resumed today.
