Light snowfall was reported from multiple areas across the Valley, including Gurez Valley, Razdan Top, Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Farkin Top and Doodhpathri, during the afternoon hours.

Strong winds persisted at several places, including the summer capital Srinagar, before rain lashed the city and adjoining areas in the evening, leading to a further dip in temperature across the region.

According to the forecast issued on Monday, Director of the Meteorological Department, Mukhtar Ahmad, said that the weather would remain generally cloudy on November 5, with the likelihood of light to moderate rainfall and snowfall (over higher reaches) at many places in the Kashmir division and at scattered locations in the Jammu division, particularly from the evening of November 4 to the early hours of November 5.

He added that dry weather is expected to return between November 6 and 15, while both maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to drop further from November 5 onwards.
