Farooq Ahmad Sheikh was electrocuted while repairing a power supply line during a routine shot down in Ganderbal district’s Kangan area.
The 41 year old line inspector was killed when power was accidently restored on a line on which Farooq was working. Locals allege that Farooq’s death was caused because of gross negligence on part of the PDD as they should have informed Farooq first.
According to reports the electricity supply in entire Preng Village was shut down today for routine check up but was restored without informing people working on lines.
Till last reports came in people were protesting in the area demanding arrest of people responsible for the negligence.
