The market checking teams of Legal Metrology Department conducted 392 inspections of the traders dealing with the retail sale of vegetables, Kiryana, Sanitizers and Masks in various districts of the Valley.
During the inspection 19 business outlets were found violating the provisions of Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and Packaged Commodity Rules, 2011. The traders were found overcharging for Masks, Sanitizers, L. P. G, Vegetables and other essential commodities and sale of packaged commodities in violation of labelling norms.
17 traders confessed their guilt on spot and a fine of Rs. 10,900/- was realized by them.
