India and Pakistani troops exchanged heavy firing for the ninth time in the past four days. A defense spokesman said that Pakistani troops targeted 16 Indian forward posts and civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir resulting in heavy exchanges.

“Pakistani troops fired on Indian posts along the LoC in Hamirpur-Balakote and Mendhar forward areas in Poonch district last night” Defence Spokesman SN Acharya said on Wednesday.

Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar on Wednesday said that a resolution will be presented before the House and members could endorse it.

“A resolution will be moved later in the day for you to endorse,” said Kumar.

Pakistan on Tuesday passed a resolution condemning what it calls an unprovoked attack by India along the Line of Control in Jammu Kashmir.
