Much to the relief of traders involved in the barter trade between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad from Salamabad, Chakoti route, cross LoC trade on the said route resumed Wednesday.

The trade on this route was suspended from more than a month and it took authorities of the either sides many days to decide about its resumption. Though the final decision in this effect was taken on last Monday during a meeting on the zero line but it was formally resumed today when truck loads crossed over with trading material.

Official sources said that 22 trucks carrying goods from this side of left  Salamabad Trade Facilitation Centre for Chakoti in the Pakistani administered Kashmir (PaK).

The cross LoC trade was on January 17 after 114 packets of brown sugar were recovered from a truck coming from Muzaffarabad and the driver was arrested.
