SRINAGAR: Sleuths investigating a series of explosions in the border Rajouri district have revealed that “some local youth” are behind these actions. There were four explosions in the Koteranka-Budhal belt in the last two months in which few persons were injured.

“No cross-border or Kashmir link has been found so far in a number of explosions which took place in the border district of Rajouri including four in Koteranka-Budhal belt in the months of March and April,” police sources told Jammu based newspaper, the Daily Excelsior. “It is now confirm (sic) that blasts were triggered by crude devices and not IEDs or grenades.”

After the explosions, police and various intelligence agencies started probing the blasts. Though there was no loss of life in the first two blasts, in the later two explosions a UP couple and two workers of a tent house were injured.

The investigations have revealed that “some local youth were behind the explosions which were caused by locally assembled devices”. The report said that special police were working with various security and intelligence agencies “to reach to the accused responsible for the blasts though a breakthrough remained elusive so far”.
