Srinagar: Residents of the Nigeen, Hazratbal area of Srinagar city on Wednesday accused the Srinagar municipal corporation of littering garbage on a public walkway.

The residents of New Colony, Nigeen said that Srinagar Municipal Corporation officials have turned the area into a garbage dumping site by littering the garbage in the colony that emanates foul smell.

“The garbage collected by the SMC municipal from different areas of Srinagar is being dumped here near the school building which has turned the area very filthy attracting dogs and insects”, said Yasir Ahmed, a resident.

“The stray dogs scatter the garbage over a large area and pose a threat to pedestrians particularly to students of the school,” Yasir added.
