Srinagar: Protests erupted in Unisoo village on Thursday morning against the killing of a youth by unknown gunmen on Wednesday evening in Harwan- Bomai Sopore.
The slain youth, identified as Arif Ahmad Sofi son of Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, from Wahipora area of Unisoo village.
Arif was the lone son of his parents who have three daughters and was a Medical Representative by profession.
Reportedly people from the area gathered and protested early morning while the body was on its way to the native village.
“The gunmen shot him from point blank range”, officials told Kashmir Wire after the incident.
His father said some unknown persons came to their house and dragged Arif, the lone breadwinner, out of the house and pumped bullets on his body.
Arif was shifted to nearby Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
