SRINAGAR: Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma on Tuesday described the day as a “black day” in Jammu and Kashmir’s democratic history, alleging that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah violated parliamentary decorum by using objectionable language against BJP legislators inside the Legislative Assembly.
Speaking to reporters, Sharma said the Chief Minister’s remarks had undermined the dignity and sanctity of the House, calling the incident unprecedented for any Chief Minister in the country. He accused Abdullah of displaying arrogance and failing to uphold the responsibility and decorum associated with his office.
The LoP further alleged that the language used by the Chief Minister insulted opposition members and tarnished the reputation of the Assembly. He demanded an unconditional apology and warned that the opposition would continue protests and disrupt proceedings until the Chief Minister apologises.
