SRINAGAR: Aamir Hussain, a young para-cricketer from south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India and legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for granting him the opportunity to play in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL).

Aamir, hailing from Waghama Bijbehara, said that playing alongside legends like Sachin Tendulkar was a lifelong dream come true. He expressed his joy in spending time with Bollywood superstars like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, who appreciated his journey through life’s challenges and encouraged him to continue inspiring others.

Aamir recounted a childhood accident at his family’s sawmill that resulted in the loss of both his hands. Despite facing discouragement from relatives and others who believed his life was over, he remained steadfast in his determination.

“Today, those same relatives and other people acknowledge my remarkable achievements, resilience and spirit,” he said. Aamir has honed his skills to bowl with his leg and bat by holding the bat between his neck and shoulder.

“One should never lose hope,” he stressed. “Under all circumstances, one must keep going and make efforts to do better so as to become independent. Losing a part of the body isn’t the end of life.”

Praising Aamir’s remarkable feats, Sachin Tendulkar lauded him for making the impossible possible.

The Adani Foundation also announced its commitment to support Aamir Hussain Lone in his journey by offering him all possible assistance—(KNO)
