Amid the complete shutdown in Kashmir, the overall voting percentage that commenced from today morning has reached 46 .17 per cent up-to 3:00 pm in state’s Baramulla and Jammu constituencies.

During the first phase of election Lok Sabha elections, north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was at 19. 0 per cent, 38 .7 % per cent votes were cast in Kupwara, 26.1 votes were polled in Bandipora.

In Jammu constituency, Jammu was at 59. 0 %, 66./6 % votes were polled in  Samba, 58. 4 votes were polled in Rajouri, and 53. 4 % votes were cast in Poonch.

Pertinently PDP’S Abdul Qayoom Wani, Raja Aijaz Ali of People’s Conference, Akbar Lone of National Conference, Er Rasheed as Independent, BJP’s M. M War, Najeeb Naqvi as Independent, Farooq Ahmed Mir for Congress, Jehangir Khan NPP, Javeed Ahmed Qureshi as Independent, Abdul Rashid Sheikh are contesting Lok Sabha elections for Baramulla seat.

Meanwhile, a shutdown is being observed in the valley following the JRL call against the Lok Sabha polls and NIA summons to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik.
