As the polling for the second phase of Lok Sabha election is underway in state’s Udhampur and Srinagar parliamentary constituencies on Thursday, the Budgam district of central Kashmir recorded the highest turnout till 3:00 pm.

The Budgam district recorded 79405 (16.9%)- which remained highest till 3:00 pm, followed by Ganderbal that recorded 27105 (15.4%) and Srinagar was at 41004, (6.3 %) percentage. The total number of votes recorded in the three districts of the constituency was 147514, (11.4 %).

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in poll-bound areas of the valley today following a JRL election boycott call.
