SRINAGAR: Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district arrested madrassa teacher Nasir Majeed on Monday for allegedly raping a minor girl at Madrassa Dar-ul-Quran Goila in the Gandoh area, apprehending him within three hours of the complaint. News18 reported that Majeed, a resident of Challer village, fled after the assault but was tracked down through timely intelligence and teamwork by a special probe team.
An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, with the victim’s medical examination conducted at Government Medical College (GMC) Doda.
The assault occurred at the madrassa where Majeed taught, prompting a swift police response after the complaint was lodged. The authorities formed a dedicated team after the FIR, leading to Majeed’s capture despite his initial evasion. The Print quoted officials stating the arrest happened on Monday afternoon.
