SRINAGAR: A magisterial probe has been ordered into the death of a man in custody of Jourian Police in Jammu, media reports said.
Jourian Police on December 21 arrested the accused Sunil Kumar alias Sonu of Garhi- Bishnan area of Jourian Jammu in a 2014 money dispute case. The arrest warrant was issued by 2nd Additional District Judge Jammu.
The accused was supposed to appear in court the next day, but developed some complications. He was sent to CHC Jourian early on December 22 where he did not respond to the treatment and was declared dead, the reports suggest.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Jammu has also ordered a magisterial probe into custodial death of the man. The probe is to be conducted by SDM Khour.
