SRINAGAR: A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck the north-western Kashmir region on Monday, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said.

According to the NCS, the tremor occurred at 11:51:14 am, with its epicentre located in the Leh–Ladakh region at a depth of 171 kilometres.
However, there were no immediate reports of loss of life or damage to property.
Authorities said the situation is being monitored and further details are awaited.
