SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have issued a short statement regarding the two attacks across Kashmir. A CRPF personnel was killed in Srinagar as his colleague survived injured in Srinagar while two non-local workers survived an attack in a Pulwama village.

At about 1530hrs, the spokesman said the two CRPF personnel deployed in Maisuma were attacked resulting in critical gunshot injuries to both personnel. “The injured personnel were immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital for the treatment of their injuries, however, HC Vishal Kumar succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom,” the spokesman said. “Keeping in view the huge rush of people and to avoid any civilian causality, security forces exercised maximum restraint.”

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated an investigation. Officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of the terror crime while the whole area had been cordoned off with the help of reinforcement and a search in the area is going on, the spokesman added.

Earlier at about 1400hrs, the spokesman said “terrorists fired upon two labourers identified as Patleshwar Kumar and Jakku Chaudhary residents of Bihar at Lajoora area of Pulwama. Both the labourers received gunshot injuries and were immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment where their condition is stated to be stable. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated an investigation into the matter.”
