A large number of people who were part of the Eid-e-Milad procession in South Kashmir waved the photographs and posters of local militant commander Majid Zargar who reportedly was killed in a fierce encounter at Hussanpora Arwani in Bijbehara town of Islamabad district.

Eyewitnesses told local news agency CNS that Mirwaiz South Kashmir Qazi Yasir of Umat-i-Islamia led a huge Milad procession in Islamabad. The procession started from Reshi Bazar and on way back from Sarnal, when the procession reached near Janglat Mandi, scores of youth displayed the computerized photographs of ‘slain’ militant commander Majid Zargar. The youth amid pro-freedom slogans waved the posters and photographs.

Eyewitnesses said that after the culmination of the procession, the youth carrying posters dispersed peacefully.

Zargar was the Divisional Commander of militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba. While locals claim that he is still alive as his body could not be identified, police said that the samples have been collected for the DNS test to prove the identity of the militants killed in the 42 hours long Arwani gunfight.
