JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik and other frontline leaders of the party went into hiding on Friday to avoid arrest.

“A police party raided Malik’s residence at Maisuma locality to arrest him but he had gone into hiding minutes before,” a JKLF spokesman told Kashmir Life.

“Many other front line leaders of JKLF have also gone into hiding to avoid their arrest,” he added.

Pertinently, JKLF has called for ‘Lal Chowk Challo’ movement on June 23, to start its ‘Quit Kashmir’ movement.

This will be for the second time since 2010, when separatist will be launching ‘Quit Kashmir’ movement. On 25 June, 2010, Hurriyat (G) had started ‘Lal Chowk Challo’ movement. Leader of the faction, Masarat Alam Bhat had announced it during a press conference.

Pertinently, Masarat too had gone into hiding after launching  ‘Quit Kashmir’ movement in 2010. It was after four months when he was arrested from Tailbal area on October 18, 2010.

Sources said that police has started a manhunt to nab the front line leaders and activists to thwart their ‘Lal Chowk Challo’ program.
