Yasin Malik with Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on May 20, 2016

Continuing with its efforts to “forge unity” among Kashmiris “to resist Indian conspiratorial agenda”, JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik Friday met Hurriyat Conference (m) chairperson Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq.

A JKLF statement said that Yasin also met president of Jamiat Ahlihadees Moulana Ghulam Muhammad Butt and president of Batamaloo General Bus Stand Batamaloo Bashir Ahmad Matta today.

“During these meetings, leaders said that no true Kashmiri will ever compromise or accept any change in the demography of Jammu Kashmir. India and its Kashmiri stooges want to change demography of Jammu Kashmir and turn Muslim majority into a minority and hence it is our religious and national duty to safeguard our interests at all costs. Terming Israeli type separate colonies for pundits and army people, East India company type industrial policy, colonies for homeless outsiders, NEET and oppression unleashed against Jammu Muslims as manifestation of conspiratorial agenda leaders pledged to resist all these plots with unity,” the JKLF statement said.

Malik also paid rich tributes to great Kashmiri leaders, Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone and Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq on their death anniversaries.

“Kashmiri freedom struggle is adorned with the blood of martyrs and therefore no power can defeat this sacred struggle,” he said. “Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone Shaheed and Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq Shaheed are among those martyrs who will always be remembered and followed.”

Remembering struggle and sacrifices of Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq, Malik said, “Shaheed Mirwaiz belonged to a family that has always inspired Kashmiri’s. His family led this nation in the fields of politics, education, and religion. Mirwaiz Shaheed himself tolerated the hardships of jails, torture and oppression in the way of freedom. He never shied away from struggle and sacrifices and stood firm at the times of hardness and finally sacrificed his life in the way of truth.”

Recalling struggle and sacrifices of Khawja Abdul Gani Lone, the JKLF chief said, “he was one of the best brains, a prolific politician, intellectual Kashmir has ever produced. He always fought for the cause of freedom and tolerated all hardships, sufferings and miseries in this way. He rejected power and position, joined the freedom struggle and never looked back till he embraced martyrdom.”

“His separation was a personal loss for me as he was a selfless well-wisher of JKLF and freedom struggle. He was a symbol of braveness, passion, intellect and wisdom and will remain in our hearts for the ages to come,” Malik added.
