Expressing shock to the killing of five labourers from west Bengal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that all necessary help will be given to the families of the labourers.

Taking to her twitter handle Banerjee wrote;  “We are shocked and deeply saddened at the brutal killings in Kashmir. Five workers from Murshidabad lost their lives. Words will not take away the grief of the families of the deceased. All help will be extended to the families in this tragic situation.”

On October, 29 late evening five labourers were killed by suspected militants in Katroosu village of Kulgam district in south Kashmir.

Media reports suggest that five labourers were killed and another was critically injured. The attack happened on a day when a delegation of 23 European Union parliamentarians was visiting the Valley to take stock of the J&K situation. During the day, Kashmir Valley observed a strike. Protests and stone-pelting were also reported from several parts of the Valley.

Day before the incident, militants had killed a truck driver in Bijbehara area of Anantnag. same day, firing from the militants on paramilitary personnel deployed near a school in Pulwama district was also reported.
