SRINAGAR: A 32-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl in the Parimpora area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Thursday.

Srinagar Police, while taking on to ‘X’, formally ‘twitter’ confirmed the arrest of Umais Khan, 32, son of Mushtaq Khan and a resident of Zaldagar, Srinagar. The arrest was made in connection with the reported sexual assault on a 13-year-old child.
In response to the incident, the police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 7 and 8 of the POCSO Act, with the case designated as FIR no 140/2023 at Parimpora Police Station.
