Bandipora police recovered large quantity of Codeine Phosphate meant for sale to the youth in Sumbal area from a vehicle. The peddler was arrested on the spot.

Sumbal police intercepted a vehicle Tempo Traveller bearing registration No: JK04A/0421 at a naka in Sumbal, today. During the search of the vehicle police recovered 450 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and many strips of Sposmoproxiwan. The peddler Altaf Parra son of Wali Mohammad resident of Sumbal was arrested and the vehicle was also seized. During questioning the peddler revealed that he used to sell the contraband among youth indulged in drug abuse in Sumbal area.

A case has been registered against the peddler in police station Sumbal and investigation has been taken up.
