SRINAGAR: A man was injured after being attacked by a bear in the Nowgam area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday afternoon.
An official said that the man was grazing cattle in the forest area of Nowgam Handwara when the bear attacked him.
The injured man, identified as Ghulam Din Badana, son of Nazam Badana and resident of Nowgam, was initially taken to a nearby hospital. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he has been referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, the police have taken note of the incident. (KS)
