A 58-year-old man was found hanging from a tree at a village in Poonch district of Jammu division on Sunday.
Reports said that some locals informed the police about the body hanging from a tree at Qasba area. Immediately a police team reached the spot and recovered the body of the man.
The deceased has been identified as Fareed Ahmad Khan son of Jan Ali Khan of Qasba.
The body was taken to a nearby hospital for all legal medico formalities, they said.
SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral said that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law and further investigations were taken up to ascertain the cause of the incident.
“The investigations have been initiated and all the angles will be looked into it,” the officer said. (GNS)
