SRINAGAR: A 27-year-old man was found hanging in Taratpora Ramhall in the Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.
A police officer identified the deceases as Mohammad Iqbal Chopan (27) son of Mohammad Sabir Chopan of Sharkoot Tarathpora Ramhall Kupwara.
A police party from Villgam reached the spot and took the body into custody. The body has been sent for the postmortem.
“Investigations are underway,” news agency GNS quoted a police official as having said.
He said that it was premature to say if it was a case of suicide or otherwise. “Investigations will reveal the facts,” he added.
