SRINAGAR: Police on Thursday claimed to have solved a blind murder case and arrested the husband for allegedly killing his wife in Kangan area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

A Police official said that Rubeena Bano wife of Abdul Majeed Khan of Gochi Mohallah Kangan went missing from 11 July and her dead body was found on July 15 near Gochi Mohallah from Nallah Sindh.

He said that during the preliminary investigation we have found that Rubeena was killed by her husband Abdul Majeed with the help of his brother and the duo dumped her dead body to a shop for four days and later her dead body was thrown into Nallah Sindh.

Meanwhile, SSP Ganderbal while hailing the work of SDPO and SHO Kangan tweeted that: “At Police Station Kangan a drowning case of a lady namely Smt Rubeena W/o Abdul Majid Khan has been worked as murder to have committed by her husband.”

SHO Police Station Kangan Aftab Ahmad said that we have arrested the accused and registered a case under FIR No: 50/2020 U/S 302 at Police station Kangan and, further investigation has been taken up.
